What is BPC-157?
BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide (sequence GEPPPGKPADDAGLV) derived from a partial sequence of a protein found in human gastric juice. Unlike short-lived growth-factor peptides, it is notably stable in gastric juice, and laboratories study it as a stable pentadecapeptide tool compound in tissue-repair and cytoprotection research.

Research areas where laboratories buy BPC-157 for in vitro and preclinical work include gastric and intestinal mucosal-injury models, tendon and ligament fibroblast cultures examining outgrowth and collagen organization, endothelial angiogenesis assays with VEGF/eNOS readouts, and central and peripheral nervous-system injury models. Published work links its activity to nitric-oxide pathway signaling, FAK-paxillin cell-adhesion pathways, growth-factor receptor expression, and dopaminergic and serotonergic systems. BPC-157 is not an FDA-approved drug.
