What is Kisspeptin-10?
Kisspeptin-10 (Kp-10) is a synthetic decapeptide (Tyr-Asn-Trp-Asn-Ser-Phe-Gly-Leu-Arg-Phe-NH₂) corresponding to the C-terminal active fragment of the KISS1 gene product, also known as metastin. It is an agonist of the KISS1R receptor (GPR54) and retains the full receptor-activating activity of the parent kisspeptin. The C-terminal Arg-Phe-NH₂ (RFamide) motif is essential for receptor activation.
