What is Selank?
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro, or TKPRPGP) derived from the immunopeptide tuftsin. The addition of a C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro motif confers resistance to enzymatic degradation, extending the molecule’s activity relative to the native four-residue tuftsin parent. Developed in Russia, it is studied as an anxiolytic and nootropic research peptide and is not approved in the United States or European Union.
Research areas where laboratories buy Selank for in vitro and preclinical work include anxiety-related behavioral models in rodents (elevated plus maze, open field), GABA-A receptor and GABAergic neurotransmission assays, BDNF and neurotrophin expression studies in hippocampal cultures, enkephalinase-inhibition and regulatory-peptide stability assays, immunomodulation studies leveraging the tuftsin parent sequence, and monoamine balance and gene-expression profiling under defined conditions.

Selank Mechanism of Action
- Stabilized analog of the immunopeptide tuftsin — the C-terminal Pro-Gly-Pro motif confers resistance to enzymatic degradation, extending activity relative to native tuftsin.
- Modulates GABAergic neurotransmission, the proposed basis for its anxiolytic profile in rodent models.
- Influences brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) expression in hippocampal tissue.
- Inhibits enkephalin-degrading enzymes, prolonging the activity of endogenous regulatory peptides.
- Modulates monoamine (serotonin/dopamine) balance and expression of inflammation- and immunity-related genes.
- Retains tuftsin-like immunomodulatory activity, distinguishing it from receptor-targeted anxiolytics.

Why Buy Selank from Koi Peptides?
- Every batch of Koi Selank is synthesized and lyophilized in the United States, then released against independent third-party laboratory (Freedom Diagnostics Testing) testing.
- Each lot is tested by HPLC for purity, LC-MS for identity confirmation, and endotoxin assay for sterility readiness.
- The lot ID is printed on every vial and ties back to a public COA library, so researchers can verify documentation before they buy and after the vial arrives.
- Orders placed before 2 PM CT ship the same business day, and shipping is free on orders over $200.
